This is how serious it becomes in Norway. On a Sunday night a band is sold out, the venue is filled with people. Some of them complain they needed to be in Rockefeller because they wanted to buy tickets to have their friends come.
This is how serious, Rock, Punk and Metal is in Oslo. Many of the people go out, two times in one weekend or during the week to see bands. The dedicated many of the Oslo folk who love their music so much, buy the merchandise and buy all the LP's; fill John Dee, before even the main band, as they know their band chooses the best line up for them.
This is how the fans love the music so much and trust the band. The fan who took the photo (Magnus Emeritus Engen) , who is Trondheims biggest GHOST fan and ghost hunts in Sweden, Poland and many places to follow GHOST, said:
"Paradise Lost had GHOST, play at one of their concerts and now - GHOST are big and filling up arenas."
My thoughts on this are many reasons, perhaps one of them being that Paradise Lost is a band whom prefer to keep their devoted fans and do not wish to loose their fans who are dedicated to them by becoming too mainstream. Many bands come to cross roads where they have to make a choice, to become mainstream, or, stay niche. This is one of those questions fans grapple with themselves.
My suggestion is to buy your tickets as soon as you find out a band is playing in Oslo, to prevent heart ache. Then, if you cannot attend due to unforseen circumstances, just sell your tickets on finn.no or something so that you can help another fan.
